JT has never stopped pursuing the“Zero Waste Leather Concept” and through years of research we are pleased to announce that we have closed the loop on the use of head leather with our partners. This is not only a way to recycle, but also a way to create new, more responsible and creative materials that the industry has been waiting for.
The leather manufacturing industry generates a staggering amount of solid waste, accounting for about 50 per cent of raw materials.
Untreated leather is biodegradable, but requires a tanning process that requires large quantities of water and toxic chemicals that can contaminate soil and water sources.
If leather waste is recycled and used in other industries, landfill and the need for virgin leather and chemical tanning can be reduced. Therefore, we at JT strive to reduce our environmental impact, reuse leather and provide sustainable products.
-Achieving Zero Waste
It will not go to waste unless we waste it.
Since the demand for animal leather cannot now be completely replaced, what we can do for sustainable development is to make the best use of it. According to one leather products factory, the average use of all leather is only 75%, which means that 25% of the leather is wasted.
The challenge is to make the best use of it.
Our Recycled Leather Fiber Synthetic Leather offers a concrete solution that best meets these needs, making perfect use of the 25% of waste in leather products by transforming them into a more environmentally friendly, high-end material.
